Pastor Gary Lyvere was born in Saginaw, Michigan and grew up in Hemlock. He is a graduate of Central Michigan and earned Colloquy into the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) for teaching. Gary is also a trained Deacon in the LCMS. He has served the church is various roles including at St. Peter Lutheran in Hemlock where he was the youth director. Gary has also worked in New Lothrup Public Schools and many years at Midland Christian School where he served as teacher, coach, athletic director, and Dean of Students during his time there. Gary is married to Kathy (Erskine) and they have been blessed with four children, their spouses, and eight grandchildren.
