From Pastor Gary...
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. (Psalm 23:1)
When I worked at a Christian school the faculty would begin each day with devotion and prayer. One teacher, when it was her turn, would always offer thanks for all God’s blessings. Her prayer would go something like the following:
Dear Jesus, thank you for a warm bed to wake up in, for a house with heat and running water, for the clothes to wear and food to eat. Thank you for family and friends. Thank you, Jesus, for a job to go to and a car to drive to work and for gas in the car . . . and she would go on.
We certainly are blessed. What we have goes way beyond what we need. Sadly, we often dwell on what we do not have or the daily problems that come our way. Set aside some time today to take inventory of all the blessings of God and then give Him thanks. Start with the blessing of salvation through His son Jesus, and go from there.
Verse for today:
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Jesus Christ. (Philippians 4:19)
