From Pastor Gary..
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18)
Jesus does not promise a life without suffering and hardships. He said that in the world there would be troubles. We will face opposition because of our faith in Christ and the effects of living in a fallen world. These last months we have suffered the physical, economic, and emotional effects of a virus. People of mid-Michigan now suffer the effects of a flood. We live by faith trusting in God’s providence in this life and for eternity. Paul reminds us that what we experience in this life is temporary. No matter how gloomy things may seem, we put our trust in God for today and for eternity. Nothing in this world comes close to the glory that will be revealed in heaven where we will live forever in God’s radiant presence. Don’t let the things of this world take your eyes off the promises of God. Trust the one who created you, loves you, and sent his Son to die for your sins that you may have eternal life.
Verse for today:
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6)
