From Pastor Gary…
Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. (Mark 16:15)
This week we have looked at several of Jesus’ miracles. These works were a sign that Jesus was who he claimed to be, the long-awaited messiah, the Savior of the world. If we were to look at His miracles in their entirety, Jesus showed his authority and power over nature, sickness, and death. He proved Himself to be the Son of God. As such, when He went to the cross, Christ fulfilled what was required for our salvation. His death was sufficient for the forgiveness of our sins, and His resurrection ensured eternal life for all who believe.
What is our response to God’s love displayed through Jesus? How about telling someone about it. There are still many people who do not believe. Many are in your town, workplace, school, and neighborhood. Some are even in your own family. It is the Holy Spirit working through the God’s Word who brings people to faith. It is people like you and me who have the privilege to share with others what Christ has done. It is easy to let feelings of fear and inadequacy get in the way. But remember, it is not what you are doing for Christ, but what He is doing through you as you walk with Him.
Father in Heaven, grant us boldness to share with others the good news of what Christ has done for our salvation. Amen.
Verse of the day:
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. (Romans 1: 16)
