For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103:11-12)

The vastness of God’s love is made known by the extent of His forgiveness. No sin is so great that it cannot be covered by the blood Christ shed on Calvary. Satan tries to make us believe otherwise. He reminds us we are not good enough to earn God’s love. He wants people to be riddled with the guilt of their sins. But God showers us with His grace. It is true, we cannot earn God’s love, but He loves us just the same. We do not deserve God’s forgiveness, yet He still offers it. “By grace you have been saved, through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works” (Ephesians 2:8-9).  By the grace of God, we have faith to believe in Christ’s redeeming work and therefore he removes our sin as far as “the east is from the west.” We rest securely in God’s infinite love and unlimited forgiveness.

Verse for today:
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:23-24)
