For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
We express love in our words and actions. If I say “I love you” my actions should express that. We care for, provide for, and protect the ones we love. We want to spend time with and have a close relationship with the those we hold dear.
What we do imperfectly, God does perfectly. In Christ God shows the extent of His love. The Bible tells us, “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
God in his infinite love, sacrificed his Son for our salvation. Christ has opened the door for sinners to be forgiven, for the spiritually dead to be made alive. He offers enemies of God to be more than friends, but to be His children. Praise God that He did not wait for us to be deserving of His grace and mercy, because we are unable to do so. God loves us unconditionally. May we show God’s love with our words and actions to those whose path we cross.
Verse for today:
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. (1 John 4:11-12)
