June 13

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. (Psalm 139: 13-16)

Life is a gift from God. We are God’s workmanship and He loves us dearly. He even has a plan for our lives. The value of human life is not dependent upon what one is able to do. It is not a result of skin color, gender, economic or social status. All people have intrinsic value because all are created and loved by God. He values each person so much that He sent His son Jesus to die for all the sins of all mankind.

By the grace of God, we who believe in Christ’s work of redemption have received new life. We are born again as children of God. This too is God’s work. With our new life in Christ we have the blessing of walking the path God has prepared for us.

Verse for today:
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born not of blood nor the will of the flesh nor the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12-13)
