And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1:31)

God’s creation is a blessing. When God said that “It was very good”, it was so aesthetically and functionally.  The beauty of creation is wonderful to behold. You only need to take a walk to see God’s artistic work. The physical features of the earth are amazing to see. Plants, birds, and animals bring beauty to the world. We take vacations just to see the majesty and grandeur of mountains, lakes, and other features of God’s creation.

The creation is also good functionally. God’s creation did not need to evolve, it was good to go. We can depend on God’s orderly design. Consider such things as the seasons, the water cycle, photosynthesis, and the symbiotic relationships that exist in God’s creation. Think about how we benefit from creation through which God provides food, clothing, and shelter. The Psalmist also reminds us,
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
Day to day pours out speech, and to night reveals knowledge. (Psalm 19:1-2)
Only through scripture does God reveal who He is, and the Good News of salvation through Christ. However, the creation bears witness to God, and in its way proclaims His glory, and majesty, and might.

Verse for today:
For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving. (1 Timothy 4:4)
