So that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 3:10)
Monday, we thanked God for the blessing of family. As Christians we are blessed to be part of another family, the family of God. We refer to this as the Church. We, the church, have a Heavenly Father who blessed us with faith to trust and serve Him. As the Church we love one another, care for each other’s needs, and pray for one another. In unity of faith, we gather to hear God’s word in truth and purity and receive the Sacraments. Our bond is not by the blood in our veins, but by the blood of Christ shed for our sins.
The family of God includes all people around the world who by faith trust Jesus Christ for salvation. One day we will have a great family reunion in heaven with God and all believers from every nation and every generation. What a glorious day that will be! Take time to thank God for this blessing.
Verse for today:
There is one body and one Spirit - just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call – one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is overall and through all and in all. (Ephesians 4:4-6)
