April 15

From Pastor Gary…

As shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the Gospel of peace. (Ephesians 6:15)

A Roman soldier wore studded boots so that he could stand firm in battle. In the spiritual battle, we stand firm on the Gospel. We dig in against the lies of Satan found in the philosophies of man and the religions of the world. Ironically, as we engage in this battle, we walk in peace – peace with God. Paul wrote, “The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). The Gospel prepares us for battle. It is our firm foundation by which we stand fast against “the spiritual forces of evil.” We stand surefooted on the solid rock of Jesus Christ and His Gospel message.

Verse for today:

See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. (Colossians 2:8)
